Safety
Risk impact

LastPass: Free Password Manager requires a lot of risky permissions and is not safe to use. Avoid installing this add-on unless you absolutely trust this publisher.

Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypass your security settings, and access your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Risk likelihood

LastPass: Free Password Manager has earned a good reputation and can be trusted.

Risk likelihood measures the probability that an Edge add-on may turn malicious. This is determined by the publisher and the Edge add-on reputation on Edge Add-on Store, the amount of time the Edge add-on has been around, and other signals about the Edge add-on. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing an Edge add-on, especially ones with higher risk impact and/or higher risk likelihood.

User reviews
There's a _lot_ of negative reviews here! I have to say I am mostly very happy with Lastpass, I've been a premium user for 4 or 5 years and have the plugin installed in Firefox, Google Chrome, and now MS Edge on Windows desktop, Mac laptop, Android phone and work Linux workstation. The above is the reason I started using it - keeping everything in sync was a nightmare. Now it's not. I use Google authenticator on top of the Lastpass login for extra security and, again that just works (though with 4 devices and 3 browser plugs per device I wish the 30 day without password limit could be extended, even if it is "for my own good") Lastpass had a security incident recently, they dealt with it and the thoroughness of their response was reassuring. That's good. Sometimes the browser's built in password manager and Lastpass "fight" with each other so remember to disable the built-in browser password manager. That's irritating. Overall I never had any problems. Sorry to see others do.

I absolutely love this product, but it has stopped working on Edge, rendering it essentially unusable. I hope a fix is coming soon so that I can change to a 5-star review.
