Charset
Modify the default encoding for the website
What is Charset?
Charset is an Edge extension tool aimed at improving your web browsing experience. Leveraging this tool, users can manually modify the default encoding for websites, which is particularly useful for websites configured incorrectly where the browser cannot accurately determine the encoding used. This resolves the issue of websites displaying garbled characters. Originally designed for websites primarily scripted in Chinese and English, it now comes with extensive language support. In addition, the extension records and pins the three most recently used encodings and supports setting default encoding for all pages.

Summary
Due to the low frequency of use, Chromium-based browsers removed the ability to manually set the webpage encoding after version 55. However, on some websites that are configured incorrectly, the new browser cannot accurately determine the encoding used, which causes the website to display garbled characters.
