Popup Blocker (strict) is a lightweight WebExtension to prevent websites from opening popups. The extension pauses all sorts of window opening requests for user attention. You can either accept or deny a request. Multiple unique requests are shown combined. If a website requests a single URL more than once, a badge number will be shown indicating the total number of requests to this particular URL.

Risk impact

Popup Blocker (strict) requires a number of risky permissions that can potentially harm your browser and steal your data. Exercise caution when installing this add-on. Review carefully before installing. We recommend that you only install Popup Blocker (strict) if you trust the publisher.

Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypass your security settings, and access your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Risk likelihood

Popup Blocker (strict) has earned a fairly good reputation and likely can be trusted.

Risk likelihood measures the probability that an Edge add-on may turn malicious. This is determined by the publisher and the Edge add-on reputation on Edge Add-on Store, the amount of time the Edge add-on has been around, and other signals about the Edge add-on. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing an Edge add-on, especially ones with higher risk impact and/or higher risk likelihood.

I have been using this for a while now little over a year maybe longer. This was at the time the only one working for chrome. I now use edge and still works wonderfully. I don't know why others say it doesn't work they do not state details. I use a PC and works 100% with full custom features. There are pop-ups from the extensions UI that gives the user choices with what you want to do. That is the default setting. You can choose to white list & black list sites with-in the manager. I hope this helps.
