Return Twitter Tweet Source

Return Twitter Tweet Source

Return from what Twitter client a tweet was published

What is Return Twitter Tweet Source?
Return Twitter Tweet Source is an Edge add-on that allows you to uncover the Twitter client from which a tweet was published. Despite Twitter removing this feature, the add-on utilizes the Twitter API to retrieve the information. Please note that protected tweets and Twitter circle tweets cannot be accessed due to API restrictions.

Summary

Recently Twitter removed from what client a tweet was published from (e.g. "Twitter for Android"), a.k.a source. I noticed it's still there in the Twitter API, so I had the idea to make this addon.

Bugs:

  • Cannot get protected tweets and Twitter circle tweets status due to the Twitter API (returns a 403 HTTP status)
