Hide morning in Calendar

Hide morning hours on your Google Calendar to stop wasting space on your screen for empty hours.

The Hide Morning in Calendar Chrome extension helps users minimize wasted space on their Google Calendar by allowing them to hide early morning hours when no events typically occur. After installing the extension, a draggable gray handle appears in Day, Week, or multi-day views, enabling users to collapse morning hours and only show event titles during those times. This feature is ideal for work or school schedules to maximize visible time without unnecessary empty space.

Currently supporting English (US) Google Calendar, the extension offers a simple way to streamline your calendar, enhancing productivity and screen efficiency. Users can toggle visibility back on with a click, making it highly customizable and user-friendly. Regular updates and support are available at www.raphaelschaad.com.

User reviews

Users appreciate that the extension hides early morning hours to reduce clutter and distractions and find it simple to use, especially in English settings. However, many report it is outdated, incompatible with newer Chrome versions, and has problems in non-English calendars. Common issues include inability to customize hidden time ranges beyond starting at midnight, UI glitches like content shifting and text overlapping, and troubles with multiple time zones. Users desire updates to increase compatibility, customization (including hiding evening hours), and better UI integration.
Pros
  • Effectively hides morning hours, saving screen space and reducing distractions.
  • Easy to set up and use, with clear UX.
  • Allows focus on relevant calendar hours, improving productivity.
  • Works well in English language settings.
  • Some users appreciate its simplicity and the core feature still functioning despite being older.
Cons
  • Compatibility issues with newer Chrome versions and outdated plugin needing updates.
  • Doesn't work properly in non-English calendar settings, causing display and alignment problems.
  • Cannot customize the start time of hidden hours; only midnight start time is available.
  • Calendar content shifts or adds white space after hiding morning hours, which users find defeats the purpose.
  • Issues with overlapping UI elements like "notes" text obscuring calendar entries; also misalignment when secondary time zones enabled.

I like this plugin as it allows me to just focus on my part of the calendar and stop viewing outside times which are distracting. I have to stop using it as my organisation wont allow it as it states it captures PII. Can you update the plugin to not capture PII (Personally identifiable information) please??

the idea is good but badly implemented as it shifts all the time and you miss the actual time
