This extension needs the following permissions:

  • "activeTab" => Access the currently active tab to monitor the video or audio source's volume and speed up and slow down.
  • "storage" => The extension saves the settings you set using the browser storage

with MS Edge has heavy audio-video desync after a few times of silence skipping at youtube

I was watching a video where a professor was writing on a whiteboard very slowsly, and wondered if anyone ever thought about an extension to speed up silence parts of videos, like it's common in podcast. Well, here it is. The setup needs a bit of work and some tweaking, but once done it works flawlessly. Something I'd like to see is how much time is saved with the current settings.
