Add-on summary

This is meant to allow users with small screen real estate to maximize their workspace. The extension quickly converts regular window (with omnibar, bookmark bar, and other UI elements) to minimalistic window (popup window), using default keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + N/M (same on MacOS, not Command). Make sure keyboard shortcut is correctly set in "edge://extensions/shortcuts".

Although meant for having workspace in minimalistic windows, this extension displays the most current URL on the title bar in addition to the original title of the current page. Users can quickly copy the current URL to clipboard with Ctrl + Shift + Alt + U (this is hard coded in the page's content script for now because the "edge://extensions/shortcuts" page doesn't allow 3-mod keys for shortcut, but should not interfere with any of the OS's native feature). Future version will allow user to specify keyboard shortcuts in the options page.

This extension would quickly resize current popup window to preset locations onto your primary monitor: try Ctrl + Shift + "1 - 9". Future version will choose the correct monitor depending on the initial location of the current window prior to being resized and relocated.

This extension also listens for some requests from my other extensions (or any other extension's requests), that are being concurrently developed (not yet published). Some commands from other extensions: 'popup', 'normal' (style), 'maximized', 'minimized', 'normal' (state), 'checkPopState', 'reloadExtension', 'disableExtension' and 'hardReloadTab'.

Sometimes users might want do hard reload of a page (bypassing old, cached data of a page). There are ways to do so within the devTool page, but this extension allows hard reload with Ctrl + Shift + Alt + R.

This work is being actively updated with new features. It is based on previous versions of Ett Chung's work (https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/popup-window/nnlippelgfbglbhiccffmnmlnhmbjjpe) which is a purer implementation of the main feature without bells and whistles that I'm adding.

User reviews

Wonderful Extension. It took me a while to find because I was searching for keywords like "Minimize UI", "Hide UI", etc. but I found this, and it does exactly what I need. I monitor multiple sites that refresh constantly and didn't need all of the extra browser gunk for them. Excellent work drbxho.
