The "Full Nutrition Label" page for a given publisher provides an in-depth explanation of the ratings assigned, though the formatting on this page could be better to allow users to more-easily find appropriate sections of the text (e.g., let me click on a red X to go directly to the substantiating information). This portion of the service also differentiates between outlets' TV, print, and online outlets if that is necessary. It appears that high-profile or particularly damaging/egregious instances of mis/disinformation will hurt a publishers score more than run-of-the-mill editorial slant, especially if the publisher did not issue adequate retractions/corrections. I'm a big fan of Microsoft licensing this service for inclusion as a free Edge extension.

2023-01-18	Austin	I like being told what to think and who I can trust by my betters. I'm too stupid to think for myself. Thanks to NewsGuard I never have to critically think again! Their sacred "Journalists" work tirelessly to censor all content that is divergent. Now I only read the safe news published by "Real Journalists" who regurgitate State Department press releases in a way that even someone as simple as me can digest and regurgitate to my friends and family.

They have recently began to engage in partisan smear campaign where if an outlet questions or reports news differently from that of the mainstream left-wing outlets it will rate it as red. The people in charge of this organization are left wings or neocons ranging center-left to moderates and further left. Take their rating with a grain of salt. I personally have found in their analysis some misleading claims, even their lack of proofs compared to many MSM outlets. Update: They have now changed their popup to show less information about the website. This is a net negative.
