2024-10-23 Tom Hi all. DDG support was responsive to my concerns as described in a post from Barry on 10/20/24. There is a new version of DDG Privacy Essentials and it works. Install 24.10.16 in Microsoft Edge and see it if works for you!
2024-10-23 Bernard Continuously throws errors and doesn't work. Can't configure extension, can't configure DuckDuckGo email. Useless, and unmaintained POS. Error in event handler: Error: tried to detect trackers before rules were loaded at _Trackers.findTracker (chrome-extension://caoacbimdbbljakfhgikoodekdnlcgpk/public/js/background.js:5348:19) at Object.isTracker (chrome-extension://caoacbimdbbljakfhgikoodekdnlcgpk/public/js/background.js:24263:46) at dropTracking3pCookiesFromRequest2 (chrome-extension://caoacbimdbbljakfhgikoodekdnlcgpk/public/js/background.js:25263:50)
2024-10-22 Haseo Doesn't work anymore, it's all greyed out and you can't change anything in the options.
2024-10-21 bad Does not work. Edge disables the extension on installation as 'it interferes with browser' and when manually enabled, nothing functions, nothing can be enabled even email autofill fails to activate, clicking on the extension icon give blank dialogue box. Appears to be actively sabotaged by Edge? Extension works fine in all other google blink (apple webkit) browsers tested, which is pretty much all of them right now.
2024-10-20 Barry Stopped working after behaving flawlessly for well over a year. This add on, is now greyed out, and shows a grey square, hiding the settings, email protection access, ability to clear cache, etc. It simply stopped working. All settings are correct, and unchanged on my end. no issues with other add ons. A message and email to DDG support? No replies returned to me. What a lousy way to end my relationship with a company I've absolutely given a thumbs up to in the past. Hard to understand why DDG support seems unavailable. The DDG Privacy extension, on my device? DOA and sorely missed.
