HLS video is saved to your computer in a file with the .ts extension, which you can later view in any media player. In the new version, the extension can download streaming MPEG-DASH video and combine audio and video into one file.

The extension is very easy to use. First, you need to open the page with the desired video and start playing it. Click download in a few seconds you will start downloading the video to your computer.

Works fairly well. One problem is it seems to choose one particular stream quality and there's no way to switch to a different one. This is an issue when it chooses something like 240p when a video has quality up to 1080p. It would be great if it could show all available streams and allow the user to choose one.
